Code of Conduct

Building a safe, inclusive, and supportive community for everyone. Our guidelines help ensure that The Morning Drop remains a welcoming space where all members can thrive together.

"Rise together, respect always, create community."

Welcome to Our Community

The Morning Drop is more than just fitness events - we're a community built on connection, wellness, and mutual support. This Code of Conduct outlines our shared values and expectations to ensure everyone can participate safely and authentically.

By joining our events, you agree to uphold these standards and help us maintain the welcoming, inclusive atmosphere that makes The Morning Drop special.

Our Values

Inclusivity: We welcome people of all backgrounds, fitness levels, and relationships with alcohol. Whether you're sober, sober-curious, or simply prefer morning activities without alcohol, you belong here.

Respect: We treat everyone with dignity and kindness, recognizing that we all have different journeys, experiences, and reasons for being here.

Non-judgment: We create a safe space free from judgment about anyone's past, present, or future choices around alcohol, fitness, or lifestyle.

Community: We believe in the power of connection and support each other in building healthy, fulfilling lives.

Authenticity: We encourage genuine connections and honest communication while respecting boundaries.

Expected Behavior

Be welcoming and inclusive to newcomers and regular attendees alike

Respect personal boundaries and privacy - not everyone wants to share their story, and that's perfectly okay

Use inclusive language that doesn't assume anyone's background, abilities, or circumstances

Support fellow community members in their wellness journeys without giving unsolicited advice

Follow event guidelines including arrival times, safety protocols, and venue rules

Engage positively in group activities while respecting those who prefer to participate quietly

Keep our spaces clean and respect Melbourne's beautiful locations we use for events

Honor RSVPs and communicate changes in attendance when possible

Safety & Wellness

Physical Safety: Follow all safety guidelines during activities. Listen to your body and communicate any concerns to event organizers.

Mental Wellness: Respect that people may be in different stages of their wellness journey. Avoid pressuring others about their choices.

Substance-Free Events: Our events are alcohol and drug-free. This creates a safe space for everyone, regardless of their relationship with substances.

Medical Considerations: Inform organizers of any medical conditions that might affect your participation. We have first aid trained volunteers at all events.

Weather Safety: Melbourne weather can be unpredictable. Come prepared and follow organizer guidance about weather-related changes.

Emergency Protocols: Know our safety procedures and how to contact organizers if issues arise.

Communication Guidelines

Respectful dialogue: Engage in conversations that lift others up rather than tear down

Privacy respect: Don't share personal information about other community members without permission

Social media mindfulness: Ask before posting photos of others. Use #RiseRunRaveMelb and tag @the.morningdrop when sharing your own experiences

Constructive feedback: Share suggestions and concerns directly with organizers rather than complaining publicly

Language awareness: Avoid language that might trigger or exclude others, including assumptions about drinking habits, fitness levels, or personal circumstances

Conflict resolution: Address conflicts directly and respectfully, or seek help from community organizers

Unacceptable Behavior

Harassment or discrimination of any kind based on age, body size, disability, ethnicity, gender identity, level of experience, education, socio-economic status, nationality, personal appearance, race, religion, or sexual identity and orientation

Bullying, intimidation, or aggressive behavior whether in person or online

Unwelcome sexual attention or advances of any kind

Pressure or judgment about anyone's relationship with alcohol, substances, or lifestyle choices

Disruptive behavior that interferes with others' ability to enjoy events safely

Bringing alcohol or drugs to our substance-free events

Unsafe behavior during physical activities that puts yourself or others at risk

Sharing personal information about community members without consent

Commercial solicitation without prior approval from organizers

Reporting & Enforcement

How to Report: Contact us immediately at hello@themorningdrop.com or approach any event organizer if you experience or witness unacceptable behavior.

Anonymous Reporting: You can report concerns anonymously through our website contact form if you prefer.

What Happens Next: All reports will be handled confidentially and investigated promptly. We will take appropriate action to ensure everyone's safety and comfort.

Consequences: Depending on severity, consequences may include warnings, temporary suspension, or permanent exclusion from our community.

Support: We will provide support to anyone who experiences harassment or discrimination and connect you with resources if needed.

No Retaliation: We strictly prohibit retaliation against anyone who reports concerns in good faith.

Remember: We're All Learning

Building an inclusive community is an ongoing process. We recognize that people come from different backgrounds and may not always know the right thing to say or do. What matters is our willingness to listen, learn, and grow together.

If someone respectfully points out that something you've said or done might be hurtful, please take it as an opportunity to learn rather than an attack on your character. We're all here to support each other's growth.
